Embarrassed About peyronie's
Peyronie's Question
My penis is really out of shape and I believe it's because I masturbated a lot. I have had Peyronie's for 2 years but had no treatment.
How can I fix my problem without telling anyone cause I'm embarrassed.
My Peyronie's Answer
It is very understandable that you feel embarrassed. I believe most men do in the beginning. I did at least.
However, Peyronie's is nothing to be ashamed about. It is a medical condition and needs to be treated as such. Which is why you have to "bite the bullet" and go and see a doctor, one with experience of treating men with Peyronie's disease.
There is no need to be embarrassed about seeing a doctor. He has seen it all before. For him this is his job. However, it is good to tell him in advance that you find this difficult and hopefully he can then put your mind at ease before examining you (though unfortunately not all doctors are strong in this aspect). But this article explains why you should see a doctor and how you can prepare for your first appointment.
It is good to do your homework prior to seeing him. This article compares the most common Peyronie's treatments today. It can hopefully help you to identify which treatments you want to ask your doctor about.
I also recommend confiding in someone you trust as it will make the whole experience less daunting. I'm assuming you are not in a relationship as you say you want to fix this without telling anyone (this is a condition that is difficult to hide if men are in sexually active relationship).
But think about confiding in a friend or family member. This article offers some advice about how to deal with Peyronie's without a partner.
If you don't feel like confiding in someone in person then you can seek support on-line. Forums can be excellent source of support. However, it is important to be aware of the pros and cons of Peyronie's forums.
I hope this is of some help and wish you all the best with your treatment. Please make your doctor's appointment now. You will feel better as it is the first step in dealing with your condition.
All the best,
Birgir
